Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Jen-Ken Kiln purchase and care.
How long does it take to ship my new kiln?
Since many Jen-Ken kilns are built to order to ensure the highest quality, lead times typically range from 4 to 6 weeks. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your unit leaves our facility.
What type of electrical connection do I need?
Electrical requirements vary by model. Smaller glass and jewelry kilns often run on standard 120V household outlets, while larger ceramic kilns require a dedicated 240V circuit. Please check the specific product specifications before ordering.
Do you offer a warranty on Jen-Ken products?
Yes, all new Jen-Ken kilns come with a limited manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The standard term is one or two years depending on the model and components like the controller.
How is my kiln delivered?
Most kilns are shipped via LTL freight due to their size and weight. The carrier will provide a lift-gate service to deliver the kiln to your driveway or curb. We recommend having assistance available to move the unit into your studio.
Can I return my kiln if I change my mind?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused items in their original packaging. Please note that customers are responsible for return freight costs and a restocking fee may apply to custom-built units.
Are digital controllers included with every kiln?
Many of our modern models feature Orton or Bartlett digital controllers for precision firing. However, some entry-level or specialty models may use manual infinite switches. Check the 'Controller' section on the product page for details.
